PROJECT GOALS

Maritime Institute in Gdańsk has been gathering data on South Baltic environment for many years. The main goal of the project is to make these valuable data available to other institutions. BalticBottomBase will be available through the latest web standards in accordance with European Union directives such as INSPIRE. Moreover a new computer aided project and quality management solution will be developed and deployed specially for Maritime Institute in Gdańsk to accelerate and further improve processes of gathering valuable data on Baltic Sea.

In the future the BalticBottomBase project will provide IT infrastructure for accessing valuable data about South Baltic to many institutions: academic and research, governmental agencies and commercial organizations.
